Tube Sleeving System

80% of heat exchanger tube failures occur within the
first few centimetres of the tube. Causes may be
inlet-end erosion, stress induced cracking, corrosion,
impingement etc. Our Tube Sleeving solves these problems permanently.

CLEVELAND TUBE cures condenser tube inlet or outlet problems by installation of custom manufactured metal Tube Sleeves. The Sleeves are mechanically or hydraulically installed within the tube ends, repairing existing damage and protecting the area from further damage. Unlike plastic inserts or tube coatings, Tube Sleeves restore mechanical integrity to the damaged tube increasing the strength of the tube to tube sheet joint.

The Sleeve is designed and manufactured to ensure a smooth transition of in-tube media from the ID of the Sleeve to the ID of the parent tube, and installed specifically to combat the tube failure problem.

The quality assured installation technique does not damage the parent tube, and the thin walled Sleeve does not interfere with tube cleaning systems.

The cracks were at the steam-side of the double tube sheets. All four 500 MW units were repaired over a four year period and avoided re-tubing indefinitely.
